The Texas Eastern Transmission Pipeline (TETCO) transports natural gas from the Gulf of Mexico coast and offshore through the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys to deliver gas the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The New York City area is one of its largest customers. The pipeline system is one of the largest in the United States, comprising 9200 miles with a capacity to transport 7.3 BCF/day and inject 75 BCF in underground storage.
